DDDDEEEESSSSCCCCRRRRIIIIPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNN
Takes the specified text, either a single line from the
command line or multiple lines from standard input, and
renders it into a bitmap.
OOOOPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNNSSSS
By default, pbmtext uses a built-in font. You can also
specify your own font with the ----ffffoooonnnntttt flag. The _f_o_n_t_f_i_l_e is
a pbm file, created in a very specific way. In your window
system of choice, display the following text in the desired
(fixed-width) font:
M ",/^_[`jpqy| M
/ !"#$%&'()*+ /
< ,-./01234567 <
> 89:;<=>?@ABC >
@ DEFGHIJKLMNO @
_ PQRSTUVWXYZ[ _
{ \]^_`abcdefg {
} hijklmnopqrs }
~ tuvwxyz{|}~ ~
M ",/^_[`jpqy| M
Do a screen grab or window dump of that text, using for
instance _x_w_d, _x_g_r_a_b_s_c, or _s_c_r_e_e_n_d_u_m_p. Convert the result
into a pbm file. If necessary, use _p_n_m_c_u_t to remove
everything except the text. Finally, run it through _p_n_m_c_r_o_p
to make sure the edges are right up against the text.
_p_b_m_t_e_x_t can figure out the sizes and spacings from that.
